Classification: Application
Category: System service problem
Context: NFS-Ganesha
Context: Error
Summary
The nfs-ganesha service is not running. It has been explicitly requested to stop.
Description
The nfs-ganesha service is part of the FireMon Security Intelligence Platform Database Server (DB) role on machines operating in multi-database mode. It is responsible for sharing the clustered filesystem with Application Server (AS) machines. This error indicates that the service is not running because it was explicitly requested to stop.
Impact
If the nfs-ganesha service is not running, Application Server machines will not be able to access the shared filesystem. Security Manager will not be able to read or write shared data, such as normalized device configuration files.
Cause
The most likely cause for this issue is a failure to apply the FMOS Configuration Policy. If the fmos ecosystem enable-multi-db command did not complete successfully, it may have left the machine in an inconsistent state.
To find additional information about the issue, use the fmos logview command to view the system log (/var/log/messages) and the deployment log (/var/log/fmos/deploy.log).
Resolution
Applying the FMOS Configuration Policy may resolve this issue. Use the fmos redeploy secmgr command to apply Configuration Policy for the Security Intelligence Platform (SIP). If any errors are reported, they will need to be addressed before the problem can be resolved.
